Chloe's Swim Lessons

Chloe has started swim lessons this week. She has been playing in the baby pool, blowing bubbles and blowing up balloons. She loves it and is bummed at the thought of not being able to go tomorrow because it might rain.
First Day

Her lifeguard/teacher's name is Allie Watkins.  Chloe loves her!  Tucker Arnold has been helping with her as well.  I think he loves her!
 Second Day
Mrs. Debbie sending the kids off with their lifeguards.

Week 2 Pics
The first week of swim lessons went well aside from the fact that Chloe HIGHLY disliked going under the water.  Ms. Debbie said she is an "I don't want to go under" not an "I can't go under".  She would hold her breath fine, but she would come up out of the water "mad as a hornet" as Ms. Debbie put it.  We had a week of vacation between her two weeks of swim lessons, and what a difference that week made.  While on vacation, Chloe kept experimenting with going under, and by the time she went back to swim lessons, she was putting her whole head under on her own.  By the end of swim lessons this summer, she was swimming to the bottom of the 3.5 foot to pick up diving rings!

Beauty and the Beast

After much anticipation, the day had finally come for Chloe to go see her first broadway musical.  Joining us was Grammy, Aunt Marley, Lisa and Hannah Favara, Denise and Emily Barnes, Heather and Tavi Layne Johnson, Amanda and Lola Harris, April and Emma Layne Castle and Ladonna Moss.  We all met at the church and headed for Spaghetti Warehouse in Memphis for lunch.  Then it was off to the Orpheum Theater to see the play.  Chloe enjoyed it except the part with the wolves, which was kind of scary. Funny thing happened at the end of the play.  At the part when the beast was supposed to rise up and transform into the prince, a curtain came down and a man over the microphone said they were experiencing technical difficulties!  After a few minutes, they tried that part again.  Belle was lying over the beast crying, and I was telling Chloe, "Watch! Watch! See what happens to the beast!" and the curtain dropped again and the man spoke again!  Technical difficulties!  So, after a few more minutes, the curtain rose up again. This time, the beast was already standing, and he kinda stuck out one arm, then the other, and then after a flash of light, he just ripped the mask off his head! As Heather said, "We got the cheap version!"  After the play, we stopped at Cracker Barrel for some supper, then headed home.  Great fun with a great group of ladies!

Chloe's First Sleepover Company

After Jenny gave us these cute blow up air mattress/sleeping bag combinations, I knew we had to have someone come sleep over soon. Vivian was the lucky one to share a night with us. They ate tacos, had some cookies, took a bubble bath, watched Princess and the Frog, had chocolate sprinkle donuts for breakfast, played outside in the little swimming pool and picked some golden cherry tomatoes. They also had a great time in the school room creating all kinds of things. Both Chloe and Vivian slept great. I would have her over again anytime! (All pics taken on iPhone)

Ella's Accident

At the Wade family reunion on Saturday at Uncle Alan's and Aunt Melanie's house in Terry, MS, Ella had a bad accident. She fell back out of a plastic outdoor chair and busted her face on the concrete. At first, we thought she just had a bloody nose, scratched up finger and busted lip, but a little look under her top lip showed that she had cracked her front tooth vertically right down the middle. G-Paw drove Uncle Dustin, Aunt Marley, Ella and myself to St. Dominic's to get her checked out. Grammy and Chloe met us there. Her nose turned out to be fine, but they were concerned about the tooth. So then we were sent to UMC to the Blair Batson Children's Hospital to meet up with a pediactric dentist that was on call for the night. After an x-ray, Dr. Correa decided that the tooth needed to be removed, because it would cause her extreme pain later on top of other problems. Using a topical numbing agent and some shots to deaden the area, she extracted Ella's tooth which was in three pieces. Ella had to be strapped down in a cocoon like thing which made her really angry, and she fought and fussed the whole time. Uncle Dustin ended up having to hold her head still, so Dr. Correa, which was the only person in the room other than Uncle Dustin, Aunt Marley, and myself, could get the last part of the tooth out. She seemed to work on the last part for 5 agonizing minutes! I felt so bad for Ella. She has been doing great starting the next day when she woke up. Dr. Correa said permanent teeth come in at about age 6 or 7. Until then, Ella will be missing one of her front teeth =(

Ella at St. Dominic's with a scratched up nose and busted lip.  She was having a really good day, before the accident, and she got better again at the hospital.
Ella telling Chloe, "No, no" and pointing her finger.  They were fighting over the highly caffienated, sugary Mountain Dew that G-Paw bought them.
Our "room" at UMC.  Basically a hallway, with a piece of plywood blocking it and a partition.

Dr. Correa taking the tooth out.  She really was a sweet doctor. Dustin actually knew her from a class they had together at Delta State. Throughout the whole experience, we saw 4 or 5 people from Greenwood that we knew!

VBS Week!!!

What a wonderful week!  9 children decided to accept Jesus as their Savior!  There were over 400 people at VBS!  Seth was our helper for the 3rd grade.  I received a lot of compliments about how he was such a good helper, and I would have to agree with them!

We went to two of Chloe's ball games during VBS week.

Chloe just randomly walked up to the fence and made a silly face at us.  We tried to get her to do it again so I could get a picture.  The pic was pretty funny, but not quite as funny as when she did it the first time.

I snuck over to the side of the sanctuary that Conner was on to get a picture or two.  I took a few pictures of him before I even realized Andrew was standing right behind him!

Chloe singing her little heart out.  This was the first day her friend Camden (green shirt) was able to make it because she had been sick all week.  Chloe was so happy that she felt better and got to come!

Seth doing Humpty Dumpty!  He's not too cool to do the moves!

What it's all about!

Chloe, Conner and Camden in the VBS program

Andrew and 42nd Street :) He really loved VBS!

Conner signing "Life"

My good friend Heather, or should I say, Little Miss Muffet, singing part of the Humpty Dumpty song.
These are a few pictures from my iPhone that I forgot to add.  I looove this pic of Ella grabbing Conner's ears to give him a kiss on the nose.  Reminds me of Snow White and Dopey  =)
I took Seth, Andrew and Conner to the Grenada lake beach for a little fun.  We really had a good time just hanging out.  We ate at Pizza Hut afterwards after a lot of debate.  We went to three places to get milkshakes before we actually found a fast food restaurant that's machine wasn't broken
