Alice in Wonderland Junior

I am REALLY behind on my blogging, but I just had to post the events of today. I will get back to VBS Week after this post. I saw the play "Alice in Wonderland Junior" advertised around town and knew I had to take Chloe to see it. It was showing at MDAA in Indianola. I invited my friend Sylvia and her daughter Vivian to join Ben, Seth, Chloe and me to go see it tonight. We ate at The Lost Dog Pizza Company (ate wayyy too much) and then headed over to the theater to see the play. Being the ignorant person that I am, we all arrived at the play with no tickets, and it was SOLD OUT! Every night, SOLD OUT! Stupid me! I felt like crying. Chloe had her heart set on seeing Alice for days. She absolutely loves the Disney movie. My stupidity almost caused my little girl a broken heart tonight. Thank God Ben is the person that he is. He asked the lady at the ticket counter if we could just let Chloe see Alice, because she would just be terribly upset if we left and never got to see her. She politely agreed. She walked us around the outside of the theater and got Alice to come outside to meet us. Chloe was star struck! She ran up and hugged her and could hardly take her eyes off of her. After being somewhat satisfied that we at least could see Alice, we headed back to the front of the building. I overheard a lady speaking to the ticket lady. This sweet, sweet woman was about to offer us her tickets! She had three, but we had 6 people. These people agreed to stand in the back while Chloe sat in my lap and Vivian and Sylvia took the other two. The lady's daughter was Alice! She had already seen the play, so she graciously let us have her tickets. Seth and Ben decided they would find more manly things to do while we went to see the play. We paid the lady for the tickets and got to sit right smack in the middle of the theater. The play was great! The cast was completely children and teenagers. Chloe kept her eye on Alice most of the time, weaving her head back and forth as she crossed from one side of the stage to the other. Thank God for the nice lady who had a heart for Chloe and thank God for Ben being the assertive person that he was. I learned a huge lesson tonight.
